Mt. Hope's Jacob Ramos honored with Silver Dozen Award from the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame

Warwick, R.I., Crown Plaza- On May 2, 2016, Jabob Ramos of Bristol Rhode Island was honored with a Silver Scholar Athlete Award from the Emo Dinitto/Rhode Island Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame at the 29th Annual Awards Dinner.  The Rhode Island Chapter honors those boys who have excelled not only on the football field but in the classroom as well.  This recognition distinguishes Ramos as one of the top 24 scholar-football student-athletes in the State of Rhode Island in 2016.  He is the second Mt. Hope student to receive the Silver Dozen Award from the foundation and one of eleven to be honored from Mt. Hope since the Huskies establishment in 1993. Over the past 29 years the National Football Foundation has honored over 500 scholar-athlete football players.  Jacob is now amongst them, he will attend Kiski Prep in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania under a Naval Academy Foundation Scholarship the fall.  He will be playing Division I Baseball. Following a successful year in 2017 he will report to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland as part of the Midshipmen Class of 2021 and will major in engineering.
