Two Mt. Hope Huskies Make National Headlines, NSCAA names High School Scholar All-America Teams

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, the NSCAA High School Scholar All-America Teams for boys and girls soccer during the 2016-17 school year.

A total of 85 players received High School Scholar All-American recognition, including 36 male student-athletes and 49 female student-athletes. Two Huskies were honored amongst the 49 females, forward #10 Michaela Goglia who is headed to Division I Stony Brook University to study Chemical Engineering in the fall and Defenseman #21 Taylor DeMello who is headed to Division III Catholic University of America to study Nursing.  Both have committed to play NCAA College Soccer.  "Mt. Hope Athletics could not be prouder of these two young women, we have worked hard to put our programs on the map as top tier in the classroom and on the field.  Taylor and Michaela are great examples for the students coming in of what you can achieve at a small public school in Rhode Island.  If you believe in yourself and are surrounded by great coaches, teachers and staff who care, anything is possible" says Athletic Director Belisle.
