Long Time Mt. Hope Husky Kerri Ferreira '97 Named RI Girls Soccer Coach of the Year 2016

Kerri Ferreira '97 once a All-State player, 100 Pt club winner and the current Goals/Assists record holder for Mt. Hope takes a new title of her own "Coach of the Year." A Division I college athlete for the University of Hartford, Ferreira is no stranger to soccer accolades.  Earning bids to the NCAA tournament each year during her tenure as a player, Little East All Conference honors and the Rhode Island Athletic Hall of Fame. After first serving as an Assistant Coach under Roy Borges for 9 years, Ferriera took the helm as Head Coach in 2013.  Kerri boasts a record of 47-11-15 as Head coach of the Lady Huskies.  Her hardwork and dedication to the sport paid their dividends last week at the Soccer Coaches Association banquet.  Coach Ferreira was honored after winning back to back Division I Championships and leading the team to the RI State Tournament semi-finals three years in row. Coach hopes to see the girls in the big dance in years to come.

We extend our Congratulations to Huskies Alumni and Coach of the Year, Kerri Ferreira!
