The Mt. Hope Huskies boys soccer team find themselves in a much different spot, but with the same mindset as last year. The Huskies, who were on top of Division 2 with an 11-2-3 record last season, now sit at 5-6-6 and in eighth place.
The team gained confidence after tying three hard fought games against some top opponents, but did face an injury to key player Caden Romano. In their most recent match, the Huskies had a tough 3-2 loss to East Providence but finished with zero cards. This match was a huge confidence boost for the Huskies, as this was a very good defensive game for the Huskies and they were able to put 2 in the back of the net, as East Providence is at the top of Division 1.
As the playoffs begin, the Huskies look to start fresh and make a statement after the challenges of the regular season. They aim to strengthen their attack and score more goals while maintaining a solid defense to make a deep postseason run.
